Accessibility
The BICT has been designed and built to comply with the National Construction Code on disability access and offers easy and safe access for passengers and visitors.
Accessible services at the terminal include:
- Accessible unisex bathroom facilities located on each level of the terminal building for passengers, and in the staff areas on each floor
- Accessible car parking bays located in all car parks as well as the 2-minute passenger set-down and pick-up area and the taxi area. There is also an accessible car park for Border Agencies or Port Agent staff at the rear of the building
- Physical assistance animals are welcome with a watering and respite area available
- The check-in area has hearing loop installed, accessible height check-in counters and a range of seating options
- Travel between floors is via a travelator or lift
- Cruise lines often have wheelchairs available if required, however unless passengers have pre-organised a wheelchair, they may need to wait for one to become available
- Passengers requiring special assistance are encouraged to contact their cruise line prior to arriving at the BICT or to seek a member of the cruise lines’ staff upon arrival.
